Danielle Wensley

Facilitator, Associate Artist

Danielle Wensley is an artist whose work oscillates between static and active forms.

She humbly acknowledges that she lives and creates as an uninvited guest on the unceded homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the lands of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil- Waututh) Nations.

Danielle’s background in dance lends to an ongoing investigation of movement in a variety of expressions including dance, drawing and written compositions. She is invested in curiosity-based process and embraces community-engaged creative inquiry as an endless source of discovery, care and generosity.

She co-facilitates the Ready Dance Youth Project alongside Harmanie Rose and joined the ABDP ensemble in the creation of Translations from 2017-19. She has studied art at Emily Carr University for Art & Design and does anti-oppressive support work with survivors of gender-based violence. Her choreography has been presented by Shooting Gallery Performances, Vancouver Art Gallery, High Performance Rodeo, Fluid Festival Movement Arts Festival, DJD and Alberta Dance Theatre For Young People.
