Mentorship

All Bodies Dance Project is invested in supporting artists through mentorship and training. We recognize the many systemic barriers that exist to accessing typical dance training and to acquiring the skills and experience needed to take on leadership roles within the arts sector. From the beginning, we have been actively engaged in mentoring artists as choreographers, facilitators, performers and administrators. It is our goal to empower under-represented artists (both with and without disabilities) to be able to access the art form, grow, and make dance that will impact our world.

DancingWITH Teacher Exchange

Dancing WITH Teaching Exchange is a mentorship training focused on inclusive community dance practice. The training provides practical skill building, knowledge sharing, and mentorship to a small cohort of dance artists, both artists with and without disabilities interested in ABDP’s inclusive, community classes.

Training is provided through workshops, studio sessions, practice teaching opportunities, class observations, one to one discussions, and participation in our weekly community classes. Priority is given to artists who have faced barriers to gaining typical dance training as well as barriers to typical employment. The intention is to expand our roster of teachers, grow our network, and provide new opportunities for artists.
